Pan That Palette 2015.


I know I've already failed my Project Pan but I'm still trying to go through the products and I've made some progress on them, which made me excited to try to actually pan an entire palette this year. 

I know I'm a little late to this party since everybody started in the beginning of the year, but I still wanted to give it a go. I've been doing this for almost three months now and I the only reason I decided to make it public and share it here on the blog is because I already know it's not going to be complete fail. 

For this project I chose a palette that I'm already tired of looking at and I need to see it gone. I know I can just throw it out but I feel bad about doing it since I spent money on it and I really like the shadows.. I'm just tired of having it in my collection. It's called Downtown Browns (8026) and it's from Black Radiance. 

I decided to pick it up at the store because I heard someone on YouTube saying that this company is actually owned by Wet'n Wild and the product is pretty much the same. And I have to admit that it really is quite similar to their original 8 shadow palette's that everyone loves.

If you've been following me for a long (long) time you've already seen this palette since I used it to show you guys how you can fix a broken eyeshadow, that's why it's not in a very good condition, actually.

As you guys can see from the picture, I've already used up 2 eyeshadows completely and hit pan in one and I'm very happy with that. The shadows are HUGE and it takes a really long time to use up. 

My strategy was to, obviously, use one of them everyday that I wore makeup and it worked out pretty well if you ask me. The two shadows that I already finished were both champagne/highlight shades and I managed to also use them as highlighters all over my face, and the fact that I'm wearing makeup more often now has really helped. 

As for the others, I'm having a hard time wearing since they are very shimmery and dark which makes it hard to incorporate on my everyday makeup. One thing that has been working for me is to use them to line my upper lash line, I don't use up a lot of product that way but it's something.

As for the reasons why I'm doing it, like I already said I'm tired of having it but I also want to see products rotating in my collection so nothing goes bad or expires. I'm also trying out a new "minimalist lifestyle" and trying to cut down the amount of products I have in my closet is very important for in that sense. 

So that's pretty much it, guys. Currently Reading.

This year I made a personal goal to read more and I’ve really been trying to stick to it. I’ve been watching way less television and I even started a Reading Challenge for 2015 on GoodReads but by now I think all of you already know that since I talk about it all the time.

Since today I was lacking creativity and this posts seem to be quite popular on the online book community (Is that how you  call it ? Is this even a thing ?) I decided to talk to you guys about the books I’m currently reading.

Now, before I get started I would like to say that I don’t recommend reading more than on book at a time but since I now commute to class everyday I’m having a lot of time to read and because I don’t like reading thriller or book about murder before going to bed, I usually take this time to catch up on all the thrillers and suspense books I was missing.

I’m not list the books in order of preference. Don’t get me wrong, I’m enjoying all the books I’m reading because if I wasn’t enjoying I wouldn’t be reading, but some I like more than others.

1. Dirty Little Secrets by Liliana Hart
I got this book for super cheap on my Kindle and I had no idea I was going to like it so much. Since I haven’t finished I can’t give you guys a lot of information, but from I’ve read it’s a mystery and it involves murder and investigation.

The author does a great job at delivering information at the right moment so you’re intrigued but not super duper curious. It’s definitely a page turned and I’m loving it. But like I said before, I can’t read this before bed because I’m a big baby so I just read it while I’m commuting to and from class and this way it takes me more time to finish the book.

I’ll totally do a more in depth review of this book when I finish it and you guys should definitely give this a try if you like mystery.

2. Three Girls and a Baby by Rachel Schurig
 I’m really liking this book – not loving it. I just started reading it last night before going to bed so I can’t tell you much about this story but from what I already read I’m liking it. It’s about a girl who gets pregnant with her ex-boyfriend’s baby and she has no idea what to do but her 2 friends are more than supportive about it.

Like I said, I haven’t read much but I hope the story picks up from there. I’m expecting it to be funny with a little bit of romance. I’ll let you guys know if the story get more interesting or not on my wrap up at the end of the month.

3. City of Glass by Cassandra Clare 

I feel like I’ve been reading this book for ages and to be honest, I’m not really enjoying it. I like the first two books of the series but I’m kind of over the whole shadow hunters thing. I will finish the book nonetheless but I can’t say I’m very excited about it. I really hope this book makes me change my mind about the series because I really want to like but.. We’ll see how things go.

If you guys have any recommendations of good book series please let me know on the comments, especially if it’s fantasy. The last book series I really enjoyed was Harry Potter and I really want something to make me feel excited about the next book.

Links I'm Loving This week.


Hello everyone !

I hope you all had a great weekend and I cannot express how excited I am for this new week. I feel like the days have been passing by so fast and I know everybody says the same thing but what can I say.. I share their struggle. I'm not a big fan of Mondays but I've been trying to be more productive and a fresh start is just what I needed. 

Today I'm here with another installment of Links I'm Loving. This time I have a mix of healthy and not-so-healthy recipes to share with you guys because we all have to take a break sometimes and make sure we are treating ourselves. I also wanted to share an incredible blog post I've recently came across in a blog that has become one of my favorites already.


I'm in love with this website. I found it through one of my favorites blogs (The Out Crowd) a couple of days ago and I've been following it ever since. They feature delicious and healthy recipes and although I haven't tried any, I have incorporated some of the ingredients they use into my everyday meals. 


Josie does healthy and fitness videos and I love her because she preaches a balanced lifestyle. You can see in her vlogs that she eats really healthy but she menages to incorporate the things that she loves to eat in her diet and I'm all about that. She also films her workouts which are huge help for me and every time I don't feel like going to the gym I just watch one of here latest videos to get some inspiration.



For me, this is the definition of a cool and stylish blog. If my blog ever becomes my full-time job I will want it so look a little something like these. I've been following it for a long and I believe it's quite famous so a lot of you might already know about it. It's a all into one blog and I love it because every post is different than the next and you never know what is coming next.     


Although I love this blog in general, I'm linking you guys to one specific post. The post is about comparing yourself to others and the reasons why we shouldn't do it. I completely related to this post and it really opened my eyes.

Reading Challenge Update.

Apparently, I sold myself short and set out a very modest goal. My original and current goal was to read 30 books in this year but since I'm doing so well I'm thinking about bringing that number up but I'm not quite sure how this things work.. Is it allowed to change or goal ? Or are you just supposed to keep going and overpass it ? 

I thought it was a good goal because I could read one or two books every month and get the job done. I was also thinking my final dissertation would take more of my time but as it turned out things worked out pretty well and I'm pretty much done.. Just need to run things over with my teacher and write a conclusion.

Anyway, I'm not quite sure how to go by with this update so I'll just list out the books that I've already read and talk a little bit about them. Some of the books were just ok.. I didn't like or dislike them so if I didn't say anything about the book just assume it's that. 

Just so you guys know, I'm doing this challenge through GoodReads and I constantly update my page (I'm kind of obsessed with it), so if you'd like to keep up with my challenge and the books I've been reading you can follow me over there and I'll follow you back so we can be reading buddies. 

As I'm writing this, I'm currently 13 books ahead of schedule which means I've read 25 of my 30 books goal for 2015. I believe 3 of these books were required reads for college, my dissertation and all the good stuff but the rest 22 were all just 'cause. I will not be talking about the books I've read for school purposes because I don't think anyone is interested in Brazilian economy, Chinese economy or International Relations.

HOW TO: Find Motivation When Needed.

I don't know about you guys but I've always needed a little extra push to get things going. It's not that I'm lazy or anything.. It's just that sometimes I find it really hard to find within myself the motivation to just get out of my bed, go ahead and do it. Once I start and get the wheels rolling I'm unstoppable, it just takes a little time to get there.

You guys know me.. I'm all about girl power and being an independent woman and I also truly believe that your own strength should come from inside but sometimes it's just hard.. 

Here in the real world things don't always come out as planned. My bed is too cozy, the weather is too cold and there's always something good on Netflix or YouTube. So, when your own motivation fails and you cannot find a reason to get up and go, here are some things that may help you out with that and put on the right track to conquer the world. 

Just keep in mind that all of these suggestions are based solely on me. This is what works for me and since I'm kind of a weird human being they might not work out for you.. But hey, it's worth the shot and what do you have to loose ? 

1. Start your day Pinning

We already know you spend waaaay too much time on Pinterest (ooh you don't ? Is it really just me ?), so why not get that positive and motivational vibe going before getting out of bed ? If you're anything like me, you also start your day by going through your phone and checking it for any notifications or emails, right ? In that case, the only thing you'll have to change is the kind of content you're looking at first thing in the morning.

I know some people like to read the Bible App and I'm not judging, whatever works for you, boo. But to me, reading the Bible in the morning is just too much and my brain is not even working when I wake up so I need something more simple and direct.. Honestly, one word sentences is what works best for me.

And Pinterest gives me just what I need. I just type in "motivation" or "inspirational quotes" or something along those lines and I get bombarded by simple but powerful little quotes that send the right message across in the most effective way possible to get me in the right mindset for the day.

It may sound silly to some of you but don't judge it before you try it out yourself. It really works. I mean.. If you keep reading over and over again that YOU CAN DO IT it's going to go in your brain and you'll actually start to believe it. Trust me, it's science.    

2. Crank up some Beyoncé (or any inspirational jams you might like)

I specifically said Beyoncé because that woman is pure inspiration to me and to the world. You cannot listen to on of her songs without feeling a rush of inspiration and motivation. Guys, whenever I hear "All the women who make a living.." my mind just go BOOM and I'm ready to work my ass of because I wanna be able to scream to the world "The car I'm driving I've bought it.. I depend on me".. Like I said, my mind works in weird ways. 

But if you don't like Beyoncé, you can also rock some "Can't hold us" by Macklemore, "Roar" by Katy Perry, whatever works for you. Just make sure  it's an upbeat song with motivational lyrics cause you wanna get pumped up and feel like you can run the world, because you can.   

3. Read about someone inspiring

This is not a quick fix like the previous ones but I feel like it's the most effective. Reading about someone that I admire has really put things into perspective for me and made me realize that nothing comes easy and you really need to work for everything you want in life. 

I think that getting to read about all the struggles that a person has gone through to get where they are at the moment makes you realize that you're not the only one fighting and that if that person made it, so can you. It also shows that hard work really pays off and that you just need to trust the process and in yourself whenever you find some bumps on the road. One day you'll be glad you didn't give up. 

4. Picture yourself in the future

I do that ALL the time. I picture all the cool things I'll be doing in the future, the career opportunities that will appear in my path, the life I wanna have.. Even the house I want to live and the car I want to see in my garage. That makes me happy and makes me realize that I can have all those things if I only work for them. This is not about not appreciating what you already have, it's about aspiring to grow and to improve, not just yourself but everyone around you.

It also makes me realize that I'm the only one standing between me and the life I want to create for myself and the bright future I picture on mind. If that doesn't get you motivated to keep going, I don't know what will.  

5. Do what you love (and do it for you)

This is a tricky one. I know that not everyone has the luxury of doing what they love for a living but I'm not going to go on that road here, at least not today. But if you're not able do that, try to squeeze in some time to do something that you love during the day. 

Find a hobby (I suggest blogging), volunteer or watch a movie or something. Just dedicate a couple of minutes to do something that you love. That way, if you're job doesn't give you that feeling of fulfillment, you'll still have something to look forward to every single day.     

6. Work out

Working out realizes endorphin and endorphin makes you happy and motivated, you can check it, it's science. I'm also speaking from experience, after just going for simple jog I feel like I should start training for marathon or something. 

And I've also noticed that the days I go to the gym are the days when I get more things done. I know it's weird.. You'd think that I'd be getting less things done because of the time I "wasted" at the gym and I can't really explain it to you how it works but that's what happens.     

7. Celebrate your victories

Here in my family we celebrate everything.. Seriously, anything remotely noteworthy is a reason to go out for dinner and get the party going. I swear to you guys, my parents took me out for dinner to celebrate the fact that I was in the school play in middle school and I didn't even had to audition or anything.. I just went there and signed my name on a piece of paper.

But anyway, I'm not saying that you need to take things to the extreme (like my crazy and amazing) family, just celebrate your wins. I feel like we all need to remind ourselves sometimes of how far we've come and take a time to appreciate where we are at the moment.

You don't need to do anything crazy or throw party for yourself. Just grab your significant other, a friend or your parents and go out. Eat somewhere nice, go have drink or just do something out of the ordinary.. Like going to the beach or something. Celebrating your victories gives you a very big sense of accomplishment and leaves you wanting more.

Are You Embarrassed Of Your Blog ?

I know I was. Right when I started I was so scared and embarrassed of having a blog that I didn't tell anyone. It took me almost 2 months to tell my boyfriend and almost one year to tell my family and my closets friends (I still have friends that have no idea about the blog). I'm not sure how it was for my fellow bloggers out there but I just had the weirdest feeling of embarrassment, like I was doing something silly and that, for some reason, I shouldn't be doing it..

Now that I've been blogging for almost two years, I've realized that the word "embarrassing" should be the last thing crossing your mind when you think about your blog. There's nothing embarrassing about doing something that you love, sharing your interests and connecting with like minded people. I mean.. It's not like your shaking your booty on the internet.

Having said that, I can totally understand why we feel that way in the beginning. We are doing something new and different and every time we put ourselves out there we feel scared, vulnerable and a little exposed. Doing something different is always super scary, we don't know what to expect and we have no idea what we're getting ourselves into but if we also add in the pressure of caring about what other people are going to think about it, it's enough to drop everything and curl up in fetal position. 

The truth is that everyone has opinions about certain topics and they all matter.. to themselves only. The only person that should be affected by my opinion is myself - If I don't like YouTube videos I won't watch them, if I don't like Instagram I won't create an account and if I don't like blogs I won't read them or have one. See what I mean ? Your opinion serves you and yourself only.

So why the hell should other people's opinion dictate how you live your life ? I once had a close friend of mine tell me she thought creating a blog was stupid and pointless.. Guess what ? I didn't tell her I had a blog but I kept doing my thing over here just the same. If you try to please everyone you'll fail completely and also let down the most important person in your life, YOU. Even Jesus tried to do it and failed, and no matter how amazing you're, you're no Jesus so don't even try.   

No a lot of people will understand how sharing your life and ideas with complete strangers all over the world can we so fun, exciting and fulfilling. And they don't have to, all they have to do is not judge you or make fun of you. If your friends and your family truly care about you, they will be supportive. When I first told my mom I had a blog, the only thing she said was: "You be careful with what you share on that internet, there's some crazy people out there". It wasn't the most loving answer but you know what.. I'll take it. She didn't judge or told me to stop and she also cared about my safety. 

Creating a blog is something so simple and so extremely hard at the same time. All you need to do is set up an account and type type type.. But nobody tells you how to deal with all the emotions and doubts that come with it. Unfortunately, our society is not the most supportive one when it comes to being different or just being yourself.. If you don't fit in or you're not trying to they say there's something wrong with you. But then again, what's so special about fitting in anyway ? We don't get a prize or anything.. not even personal satisfaction.   

So, to finish off this ramble I'm gonna attempt to give you an advice. I'm not saying it's any good but I'm gonna put it out there anyway (ooh, the beauty of the internet). In a world where people tell you all the time that your opinion doesn't matter, it takes real bravery to stand up and let your voice be heard. It doesn't matter if you're doing it through a blog, a Twitter page or a newspaper.

10 Things That Made Me Happy Today.

Today I had a pretty shitty day. I woke up feeling completely crappy.. My head was pounding, I had a sore throat and a ravishing fever. YAY for me ! The worst thing was that I had a ton of things planned out for today. I was going to wake up early, go to the gym, have lunch with a friend, go shopping and finish the day of going through a massive amount of required reading for my new course.. I even wrote it all out in my planner the night before. 

But I guess life had other plans for me and instead I was gifted an entire day of feeling crappy and laying in bed. So, after I asked God why he was punishing me and drank an incredible amount of lemonade and tea (because that helps when you have a cold, right ?) I decided that I was not going to let this sickness get the best of me. I'm an independent strong woman and I make my own destiny and all the stuff that we read in magazines. 

Of course I couldn't go to the gym with a fever (Dr. Google said it was best to wait a couple of days) so I decided to approach the day in a different way. I could still read, write on my computer (blog) and use this "opportunity" to catch up on Game of Thrones. 

In a attempt to make myself feel a little better and not wallow in my own misery, I decided to come here and come up with 10 things that made e happy today.. 'Cause of the whole not-all-days-are-good-but-there's-something-good-in-every-day kind of things and whatnot. So, here it is: 

1) My killer breakfast smoothie with soy milk, bananas, spinach and cocoa powder. 

2) Game of Thrones. If you don't watch this, what are you doing with your life ?

3) Reading "I've Got Your Number" by Sophia Kinsella. I've been loving here novels. They're incredibly funny and literally make me laugh out loud. 

4) Talking to my boyfriend on the phone. He was super busy today finishing of some projects for his master but he still had time to answer to all my crazy messages and calls.. Even when I said I was dying. 

5) My cat which is also my little cuddle buddy.

6) Watching YouTube videos. 

7) Season 6 of Pretty Little Lairs. I mean.. IT'S SOO GOOOD !

8) Eating donuts. It's not National Donut day in my country but it's somewhere else in the world and that's good enough for me. 

9) Buying weird books in Amazon that I've never heard of. In my defense they were all cheap and I will read them.. eventually. 

10) Doing my nails. Having a fresh manicure always makes me feel better.

I strongly encourage you guys to list out what made you happy today. I've read somewhere on the internet that you should do this everyday but.. ain't nobody got time for that. So instead, whenever you feel crappy, sick or like you had a terrible day and just wants to curl up on your bad and eat chocolate, you should do this before. It really helps, but if you still want the chocolate after go for it.. Chocolate always helps.
